What We Do
At Aseem’s Library, we create inclusive learning spaces for children and young adults from underserved communities. We set up libraries and creative learning centres for institutions such as childcare institutions, day-care centres, open community hubs, and custodial homes in spaces provided by Host organisations across 10 states of India.
Our centres cater to learners aged 6 to 18 years and beyond, offering access to books, digital tools, games and sports, art and craft, events and excursions, with structured programs designed for literacy, creative expression, and life skill development. In addition, we conduct capacity-building workshops for field functionaries and children.
Each centre is staffed by trained librarians, community educators, or youth volunteers who are deeply committed to nurturing children through love, structure, and curiosity-driven learning.
In addition to academic performance. We focus on the holistic development of children, including intellectual, social, emotional and livelihood skills.

Our Framework
We provide Infrastructure and resources, a Daily - monthly Library Program, capacity-building workshops, and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Collaborative Model
We work in collaboration with Partners or Host NGOs who run Child care institutions, Custodial homes, Day care centres or Open Community centres. The Host provides space, children, and is responsible for governance, local administrators, safety and operations of the centres.

Our Approach
This unique, in-house methodology is a rotation-based, multi-sensory model that encourages children to explore subjects in different formats — book reading and storytelling, brain teasers and puzzles, performing arts, games and sports, STEM activities, events, excursions, public performances and celebrations. It supports children of all learning levels and age groups or talents and interests, helping them feel safe, confident, and engaged in their learning journeys.

Our flagship program delivers holistic development through three pillars:
Literacy
Building strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills in multiple languages, Foundational Literacy based on Primary School class 1 to 5 curriculum
Library
Enabling reading, providing books, multi-media, and knowledge freely accessible in a joyful way
Life Skills
Cultivating emotional awareness, social and thinking skills, behavioral etiquette's, civic values and exposure to the modern world
- Implementation is done through daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plans, tailored to learner needs
- Staff is oriented regularly on basic skills as well as pedagogical content.
- Program outcomes are systematically documented, monitored and evaluated periodically.
3L Program Stages of Library
The 3 L program focuses on Foundational Literacy, School work, General knowledge, Computer Lab and Computer syllabus, Value education and Life skills. This is planned on Monthly basis, Weekly basis and Daily basis.
Our unique Honeycomb Wheel Methodology of teaching helps to make a child comfortable, adding fun and relaxation, removes fear of learning and builds self -belief and confidence.
Activity based teaching leads to non -threatening learning atmosphere that inspires search for knowledge rather than forced teaching. Experiential learning helps absorb lessons better and faster , and develop critical thinking skills. 360* Talent search by conducting a variety of activities helps build self belief and self confidence in the user, leading to balanced social skills.
First we create a non- threatening friendly loving and caring atmosphere, help the child to first settle his emotions. The Librarian understands the child and builds a relationship of trust and caring. Activities done by rotation , of every kind, help the child discover some talent inside himself, and so generate a feeling of self belief and self love.
Secondly we inspire learning by introducing him to various subjects through fun activities. Book reading programs gain momentum in this phase, with the Reading room and Lending library being the focus. Now the different subjects are introduced, in different ways to different levels of age or literacy. The method is called HONEYCOMB WHEEL METHOD. It contains different methodologies suitable for different age profiles, for all kinds of subjects. The Pedagogy includes books of various levels, languages and subjects/topics, fine arts -crafts, games and sports, puzzles and brain teasers, performing arts, excursions, outings, and internal events.
The knowledge and learning come faster after basic literacy and friendship with a book is made. Value education, Beyond school curriculum is introduced for higher exposure to contemporary life. All the know-how has been developed in house. Our selection of books and teaching material suits our users, We also publish books and make TLMs to suit the profile of our readers. Emphasis is on holistic development or overall development including intellectual, emotional, mental, social and civic aspects of individual personality development.

At Aseem’s Library, our in-house backend academic team designs and develops structured pedagogies for every level/varied topics — aligned with the 3L Program and Honeycomb Wheel. Every centre follows a rigorous planning cycle:

Training & Capacity Building
We conduct regular needs assessments for staff and provide targeted capacity-building programs. From pedagogy to communication skills, time efficiency, classroom management, to personal development, our training ensures that our librarians and facilitators grow professionally and personally, not just as educators, but as change-makers.
Every year, we carry out internal reviews and improvement meetings to reflect on outcomes, document feedback, and design smarter strategies for the next cycle. We consider this a non-negotiable part of our culture — because continuous learning is for everyone, not just the children.

Aseem's Library Categories
CCI - CHILD CARE INSTITUTION LIBRARY- is run by government-approved shelter NGOs. Children below 18 years are housed in shelter homes, provided safe shelter, food, clothing, medicine, education and counselling. They may be homeless, or with dysfunctional parents, or no parents at all. Aseem's library provides enrichment, recreation, therapy, educational and academic support, a creative environment, and empowerment through life skills and value education.
CUSTODIAL HOMES LIBRARY- are run by licensed government approved NGOS, Juvenile children below 18 years in conflict with law are kept here for a limited period of time, and are provided shelter, food, security, medical aid and rehabilitation.
Aseem's Library provides intervention for literacy, recreation and creative engagement.
DAYCARE COMMUNITY LIBRARY- These centers are run by private NGOS., they invite children from local communities to voluntarily attend daycare activities that include bridge classes for education, food, and productive engagement. Aseem's Library provides intervention for academic support, value education and creative learning and overall personality development. It also provides therapy and positive recreation. plus exposure to the wider world.
There are two types of OPEN COMMUNITIES LIBRARIES
1. Non-Residential Open Community Library (50) - In this type of library, children and adults visit the library, participate in library programs, and benefit from the resources, but they return to their homes after their visit.
2. Residential Open Community Library (3) - In this type of library, children and adults not only visit the library and participate in programs but also reside at the library center, allowing for a more immersive and extended experience.
Residential libraries often provide additional support and services, such as accommodation, food, and mentor-ship, to help individuals achieve their goals and improve their lives. These libraries can be particularly beneficial for those who lack access to resources, support, or a stable living environment.
OPEN COMMUNITY LIBRARY - are also run by licensed NGOS. They house adults or children and families with special needs. They are given shelter, security, food and medical aid. The children attend bridge classes and are enrolled in regular schools.
Aseem's Library provides intervention for therapy, academic support, recreation and value education engaging children in education, recreational and academic support. Aseem's Library provides therapy, recreation, non-formal education and empowerment by value education and exposure to the outside world.
